With the beginning of the Space Age, the peculiar “accessibility” of space gives rise to new forms of cultural development of this phenomenon, where videogames occupy an important place since they allow a person to freely fulfill their most daring cosmic fantasies. It consists in a person’s subjective cultural experience of their relationship to outer space and allows the modeling of possible future states of outer space on the basis of comprehending the regularities of its development. A feature of modern views on the phenomenon of outer space is its human-sizedness. The phenomenon of outer space has become ingrained in the various levels of human culture. The approach is supported by a tool, the Medialib library the two case studies provide examples of how the approach and tool can be deployed in beginners in CT courses. The main contribution is a hermeneutic approach to the simplification of programming for specific contexts that combines the hermeneutic spiral and notional machines. Furthermore, we use Notional Machines to attempt a comparison of the simplicity of learning tools for programming, and to ground our claim that Medialib is “simpler” for learners than other popular approaches. We discuss the use of Medialib in two empirical case studies: a collaboration with the university of Kyushu in Fukuoka, Japan, and a coding module for Media Studies students at the University of Southern Denmark. The practical counterpart of our theoretical approach is a minimalistic Python multimedia library, called Medialib, that we designed to enable university students with a non-technical profile to create visual media and games with short and readable code. In this study, we propose instead a hermeneutic approach to simplify programming, in which we aim at clarifying the problem-solving aspect of programming, addressing computational problems that are specific to their studies and leveraging on learners’ preunderstanding of the digital media they have experienced as users. Typical simplification strategies are outlined, and according to our findings CT courses for non-technical students typically address learners from different faculties, providing generic and basic knowledge, not specifically related to their major. This paper investigates the simplification of programming for non-technical university students. In conclusion, un¬covered field of interpretation and aspects disregarded by previous researches on hermeneutic interpretation of videogames are described. Not only players, who interpret games with the view of winning, but also spectators and developers can interpret videogames differently because of different positions and influence on interpretation of each other. The plurality of interpreters of videogames is mentioned. The detailed characteristics of mentioned approaches are given. The result of given research is the distinguishing of four basic hermeneutic approaches according to the core concept of understanding the videogame phenomenon: 1) game hermeneutics / hermeneutics in general - without specific core concept (videogame is interpreted without consideration of its interactivity) 2) ludo-hermeneutics - with the game as core concept (videogame is interpreted as a game, but the game is prioritized above player) 3) procedural hermeneutics - with rules as core concept (videogame is interpreted as procedural system this approach does not consider the importance of player's actions and possibility of breaking rules) 4) real-time hermeneutics - with interactivity as core concept (videogame is interpreted as interactive system this approach states the particular role of player and distinguishes it from the role of spectator). Key concepts of hermeneutics important for the solving the tasks of the article are described. The absence of common methodology, especially hermeneutic methodology, makes it hardly possible to deal with the interpretation of videogames and understanding of specific features of interpretation of games by player, spectator and developer. Videogames are complex contemporary phenomenon that differs from other media with its interactivity and specific relations between game and player. The article is devoted to the videogame interpretation and the basic hermeneutic approaches to interpretation of videogames.
